Warmth on the wall without wood paneling

Wood-look tile brings warmth to a wall that used to be achieved only with real wood paneling, and without any of its problems in damp areas. In a bathroom or kitchen, natural wood swells with steam, stains, requires periodic treatment, and eventually peels away; porcelain does not absorb moisture, resists cleaning products, and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

On walls, format matters more than it does on floors. Long pieces installed vertically stretch the height of the ceiling and are the usual solution in small bathrooms; installed horizontally, they widen the space and work well behind a countertop, as a bar front, or as a headboard panel. The layout completely changes the result with the same piece: with an irregular staggered bond the look is more natural, while with a brick bond and grout matched to the tone, the surface reads as a continuous plank finish.

What makes a wood-look wall tile believable is the variety of faces and the sharpness of the grain and pores, because at eye level the pattern is examined up close and any repetition is immediately noticeable. Our collections combine floor and wall tiles within the same family and the same tone, so you can wrap the entire room in a single design and change only the finish in the shower area, where grip is advisable.
