Terrazzo on walls: a design resource
Terrazzo on walls is more of a design resource than a technical solution: it is used to give personality to a specific surface without needing to decorate it or add another material to the project. In a guest bathroom, a shower niche, a vanity front, or the face of a bar, terrazzo defines the character of the space with a single decision and without increasing the construction budget.
The aggregate size is what determines the result, more than the color. Fine grains behave almost like a solid color with texture and work well on large surfaces, even an entire bathroom; coarse grains make a statement and work best in limited areas, on a single surface, with the rest of the room in a neutral tone and without any other patterns competing. The background also matters: terrazzo on a light base opens up the space, while on a dark base it feels more concentrated and gains depth.
