The stone type, inside and outside the home

Stone-look porcelain tile brings the texture and irregularity of natural stone with far superior technical performance. It does not absorb water, does not deteriorate with frost or salt, does not develop moss in shaded areas, and does not require the periodic sealing treatments that are where natural stone ends up costing money year after year. It also does not have the thickness and flatness variations of a quarried material, which greatly simplifies installation.

Its natural setting is the transition between indoors and outdoors: patios, terraces, pool surrounds, access areas, and stairs, where the surface relief already provides some grip and the grip finish takes it to the level of safety required in permanently wet areas. Indoors, it works very well in naturally lit bathrooms, double-height spaces, and projects where the flooring is meant to have presence without relying on color. At 20 mm thick, it also makes installation over sand, gravel, or pedestals possible, without the need for a screed.

As with the rest of the looks that imitate natural materials, the key is variety. The more different faces a collection has, the less repetition is perceived and the more convincing the overall result is, especially on large surfaces and in raking light, which is the condition that most exposes a poor product. It pairs naturally with wood, with greens, and with vegetation, which is why it is one of the most widely used looks in residential projects with gardens and in hospitality.
