Earth tones for the wall

Brown wall tile brings the warmth of the earth without resorting to a wood look. Chocolate, tobacco, and terracotta tones add warmth to the wall and work very well in contemporary Mexican architecture, which is accustomed to combining clay, wood, and stone within the same project. It is a tone that adds character without the chromatic weight of a saturated color and that ages well.

It performs especially well in bathrooms and in transition areas toward the outdoors, where it complements vegetation instead of competing with it. It pairs naturally with sage greens, off-whites, brass, and raw textiles, and against light woodwork it creates a warm contrast that stands the test of time. In a bathroom, a dark brown section behind the sink with brass fixtures resolves the character of the space with a single decision.

In terms of finish, matte and velvet reinforce the tactile, natural reading of the tone and keep the color deep and stable from any angle, while polished intensifies it and brings it closer to a more elegant, luminous look. It is available within families that include floor and wall in the same tone, making it possible to resolve the entire space and even extend the color outdoors by changing only to a grip finish.
